New Vintage Slide Lampshade

January 22nd, 2012 § 2 Comments

Here is another one of my lampshades using a different kind of slide that my lovely friend, Carol Rosenthal found on ebay. They are 2.5″ vintage slides with glass plating and metal encasings. Up until now, I’ve been using the 35mm slides with cardboard encasings  so, this was a fun new experience.

The slides are from either the 50s or early 60s, taken by a family on a trip to Florida and the Henry Ford museum. The slides include scenes from Weeki Wachee Springs, Cypress Gardens park, the circus in Sarasota, FL, underwater mermaid performance shots and a couple from Niagara falls. The red tint is from the aging of the slides. the bottom ring holds the ones that turned green.

New Random Art Page

January 11th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Hello all,

I added a new page called “Random Art“. This page will be a collection of art I’ve done that doesn’t particularly fall under a category. These were works I did either for friends or for myself. Some of these were just random experiments with new mediums or the results of a strongly caffeinated cup coffee.

Where Am I?
